My Visit to Duxford (FSX)

...though it could have very well have been in real life. What's been accomplished with this scenery, is absolutely incredible, and I am just blown away by the depth of detail, all of it so accurate and just as it really is. The following screenshots, following my 1.5-hour tour around Duxford, is my way of saying thanks and expressing my appreciation to Stephen Legg and John Young.

My only complaint about my visit, is that I had to put up with typical English-weather. : )

Arriving for Flying Legends, I decided to bypass the main entrance, and instead of driving, I decided to walk. Here I am approaching and walking past the main entrance, admiring the replica Hawker Hurricane gate guardian.

Before entering the airport, I decided to walk around the outisde of the field for a bit. Here is the staff entrance.

Superb screenshots there.

Funnily enough, the first thing I did on loading the airfield was to have a walk around rather than taking to the air. If you know Duxford at all you'll know that the ACG team have replicated the place beautifully.

I agree Mike, and as I forgot to mention, what these screenshots show, is only a small amount of all that is to be taken in. Besides the airfield itself, I also got a lot of enjoyment just roaming through the local residential area, and I love the modeled overpass (or flyover, as the Brits call it), with traffic on the M11 actually passing underneath the modeled bridge, all blended with the photo scenery.

Although only a preview to the full-length video, this film has a lot of both modern and archival footage, shot at Duxford. If you search "Duxford" or "Flying Legends" on Vimeo, you'll find quite a number of superb films on the subject. Even if you have never been to Duxford, you can very nicely compare the same places as captured in this film, or others, or in photographs, with ACG's Duxford scenery, and be utterly amazed.
