Just messing around and took some comparison shots today. All shots using REX.

FSX Default......Forgot about the desert this time of year.... I remember doing a complete re-install because I thought something went wrong with the scenery. LoL, this is when fsx first came out and I had no add ons so to re-install was easy choice back then.

FSX MegaScenery....I like this one when flying the Tube liners but don't really care for it with low and slow

FSX Orbx....O YA! Just fills the screen with color and invites you into the enviroment.

Yea, I don't know how extensive the coverage for PNW and PNW-like scenery will become, but it is by far the best of any of them. It does have it's down-side (fps hits on many systems and very pricy) but it still has the best look of any scenery yet. Mega Scenery was very good for it's time, but it's only as good as the time you spend aloft. When you land, you can see forever because there's little to no autogen, nothing to interact with. Default is what it is. . . .great to start out with, but it can get old pretty quick.

Falcon,

If you look for Drew Sikora's stuff on AVSIM, he has created airports with MegaScenery as the basis so the runways and taxiways line up. Also he has put plenty of buildings and trees around so while on the ground at the airport, you will no longer see forever. You will need the NJ, NY and Del areas but to try one out and see if you like the effect, grab a chunk of photo scenery around the airport area using SBuilder so you get an idea of the visuals. He has many dirt / unpaved NJ airports that you just land on the terrain, my favorite being Peters 4NJ8

ORBX clearly has it, but I need a new computer to run with high settings around the western side of PNW. However this is how FsX default should have been and hopefully "Flight" will be, if and when it is released.

The Scenery's depicted here are truly wonderful!..Will MICROSOFT FLIGHT finally address this most glaring inequality in our Sim world?/POOR SCENERY!..Looking at the Film clips,I'm Impressed!...Recognizing flying in IFR,.. Deteials ,Not a factor!
Some say, not I,they heard thru the "Grape Vine'.that Christmas 2012,could POSSIBLY BE a target date.for release?..But I would not hold my breath!!

Flight will bring yet another stage in our hobby pushing forward the boundries with it and then those wounderful creative, inspired developers will begin adding that splash of imagination again. Our sim world is just getting more real in evey way. Hmmmm.....I just wonder what it will look like in 2022 and will I still be here?
