Can't seem to find much useful on Google. What, if any, are the advantages of using WindowsXP Pro64 over Pro32. Please also list disadvantages.

If your hardware isn't ancient, you may as well get Windows 7. XP is over ten years old now! In short, 64 bit allows you to utilize >= 4 GB of RAM.

The addressability of RAM is the biggest benefit with 64 bit operating systems. 32-bit systems can address 4GB max and that includes physical RAM, CPU cache and video card RAM. That means with most CPU's and 512MB video card and 4 GB of RAM installed the system only sees about 3.5 GB of RAM. That can become a real limitation as modern video cards have 1 and 2 GB of RAM. Windows XP is outdated, but it still works. Depending upon your hardware, you might be better off with 64 bit Windows 7.

The biggest drawback has been mentioned...it's older and slower than Win7 64 bit but also you have to go find all your 64 bit drivers for your equipment with XP most them have already been updated in Win7 64. Win 7 64 even makes an old PC more efficient.
