Just wondering if any one has the Huey from Aerosoft or Nemeth Designs? What are your opinions about which one to get?

I tried the ND Huey. Im not a rotor head, but I liked it a lot! Easy to fly and looked amazing! On the 1st release, there was a lot of ppl complaining about slow FPS but I think that was fixed up soon after. I havent flown it since. Ill let better chopper pilots fill you in more.

I have both and like both equally well. I was one of the few that had issues with the Aerosoft controls system in the Huey, but after it got ironed out the chopper is great!

It depends on what you want

Military. Then ND
Civi. Then aerosoft

Each have their pros and cons

If you wait for dodo to release theirs your in for long wait

There's a tonne of nd paints and a few for aerosoft

The nd paintkit is some what not for beginners and the aerosoft lacks detail hence the low number of paints

I like the fde for aerosoft but like all nd releases they are lacking

Some pretty fancy stick handling there. Nice video. I have the Aerosoft Heli and enjoy it a lot despite the small number of liveries available.:salute:

If you go to the aerosoft homepage you`ll find a free downloads -section. There is a section called "HueyX" - with a lot repaints for the Chopper (some from me :mixedsmi:).

Greetings :wavey: Dirk

The repaints are all nice. Although I haven't found any that catch my eye. That's the trouble I seem to have with any model regardless of what they are or who made them. I find myself bored with the average schemes due to most of them being just the average, yep, there's a Huey (or whatever). Of course I fly a lot from spot view. Don't think I'm complaining. I'm not. I can paint my own simply enough and that would solve it. I'd just like to see more of a personal approach in repaints that displayed the artists talents that's doing the scheme, rather than painters copying something that's already been done thousands of times all over the world.

Hopefully that makes some sense.

Sometimes it is very hard to satisfy the community - if i do "fictional" repaints, people ask for "real life"-paints, if i do "real life"-paints they want others - let me say it so - i share all my paints for nothing, absolut nothing - nobody must pay for a repaint, i beg not for donations or something else. If you like it, download it, if not ........ .

Kindly regards

Dirk

One day I did review of Huey of Nemeth/Milviz here is link + screenshots: http://yoyosims.pl/FSX_UH-1.html but it was done before last update. I conected this Huey with missions (payware, from RDJ + scenery of War of Vietnam) and it was nice adventure :)

I really have enjoyed the AS Huey. There is some misconception about the designation of it, I think. It is listed as a UH-1D, which is correct for the German designation/builds. Germany license built UH-1's and they were called UH-1D's in their service. They were the same as the UH-1H in US Army service. The other model that AS depicts is the 205A1, which is a newer varient of the Huey platform that uses 212 gear such as the right handed T/R. I haven't shut the bird down to see if it has the 212 rotor though, with its "step" or tooth that the original 205 blade didn't have. Guess I should do that.
It is fun really loading the beast down and flying around.

There is an update to change the interior text from German to english, so that is no big deal. It flies great, the animations are nice, and it doesn't totally nuke my framerates. There are a few repaints out there for it, but I do wish there were more. Like most new releases, the repaints start pouring in, then they trickle in. But then, if you have something specific you are looking for, you can always ask someone if they can do it. This community is fantastic in that sense. And many people can benefit from one persons wish.

I really doubt you can go wrong in either case though. Each will be fun.
