All the innovative human resources management in the world doesn't benefit your company if you grow beyond your financial capabilities.

Other, financially more stable airlines feel threatened and match or undercut your prices.
Hence, after only six years of existence, you have to sell out. In this case, ironically enough, to a former friend to whom you wanted to show that your business and company model can indeed work.
Unwillingly, your legacy lives on, at least...

...until the next rebranding.

Normally, a 727 doesn't care who it flies for, as long as it still has available cycles on the clock. That is, if a terminal doesn't get in its way and spells its early doom.

Now on Avsim and Flightsim (and soon here).

P.S: Reading Petzinger's "Hard Landing" at the moment. Best book ever!

P.P.S: The later Continental logo is hand-painted as the web doesn't have it in a proper form.

Ah, "People Express...." Those were the days! I used to drive up to Jacksonville, FL late Friday afternoon, stroll through the lobby and simply walk aboard and find a seat... Just like riding a bus!

$70 to Newark, NJ, a quick subway ride, and I was in NYC for the weekend! Woo-hoo! :applause:

Fares to dream about...

But those were the 80s in the US. Low fares and endless post-deregulation quarrels.
Most interesting times.
