Just so you won't be disappointed that there are no mysteries left to unravel here...

Here are four different nation's mystery aeroplanes from the 1920s. Earn yourselves some :icon29: !

Hi Ralf,

Off the top of my head, the top left is a Vickers Commerical/ Vernon and the bottom left is a Dornier Do R4.

Top right is of Russian origin I think - no wait, could be French....

Not a clue on the bottom right. There were so many built that had that general look.

Edit: Bottom right Fairchild 71?

Hi Mo'!

You get a big :icon29: for the Fairchild & a bit of a :icon29: for both 'Vickers' - not a Vernon though - & for 'Dornier', though it's a name, rather than a number, we're after...Top Right IS indeed French. So you've got one & three-quarters of a beer so far! :ernae:

The Vickers is a Valentia, and the Dornier is of course the Super-Wal.

Still looking for that French one though.

Hi Ferry!

You get a :icon29: for Super-Wal, but that Vickers is NOT a Valentina!!!!!:p87:

(Never dared use that smiley combo before!) :)

I have run across a few Vickers that look like your picture. One is the Vickers Vimy Ambulance. Yet another source calls it a F.B.27A Vimy MkII. It also looks like a Vickers Type 56 Victoria and a Type 72 Vanguard.

I think I'm chasing my tail here. :bump:

The Frog's got me beat.

This I will cherish :) !

The book is from 1929. The Frog manufacturer was a very, very big name in aviation... (that white never works in the 'Color' choices, does it? S'pose you have to change the background colour, isn't it just?) :wavey:
