I shot these late last night, and I thought I would share them, just incase they might interest anyone. You can view the images in full-saved resolution, by opening them in a new tab.

All of the items featured within the screenshots are ORBX PNW, REX, the superb RealAir Spitfire XIV, and a couple of Warbirdsim P-51D's. The depth of contrasts is all from using the new "Shade for FSX" addon.

Honestly, I think there is way too dark ambient light with this new mod, at least on the photos shown off here and in the release post.
There's much more light photon bouncing in real life, esspecially on metal surfaces, so the surfaces off the light source wouldn't be that dark in daylight.

The really cool thing about Shade though, is that its 100% customizable. You can easily create your own lighting and just as easily use it..
What i like about these pictures however is that, a long time ago, i played with being a professional photographer, and i swear that every photographer i ever read about, saw, knew or emulated was going for that exact lighting situation in their final prints.. Yes, its dramatic, but human beings always tend to go for the ooo ahh factor over reality..

It also depends on your monitor. I looked at these pics on my game rig with a 30 inch 1600p monitor and they were very vibrant, and now I'm looking at them on my laptop and they look a little too dark. Still awesome pics, though.

Agreed Bone.. On my HDTV which is a rear projection set, they're a bit dark for me as well, but on my little HP All in one touchscreen, they're incredible..

MikeLove the 'war weary' look of that Lightning. We Scots, no matter where or how long gone, never forget.

Really like the idea of this SHADE thing, but on the link forum it takes you too on the sticky, there's people saying they don't understand how to make it work for them which puts me off a bit.

Regarding some of the comments in this thread, please see my second-to-last post in the Shade thread.

Here are a few more shots that didn't make the cut the first time. These range from mid-afternoon to mid-evening:
