A rare butterfly for our region.

A rarity for our region, I found a Scarlett Peacock butterfly at the Butterfly Station this morning, they are so pretty. Mornings are the best time to shoot butterflies, they are feeding and warming themselves, so it's quite often their wings are open.

Very nice. Was it the Irish who said, butterflies are the souls of departed Saints?

Me like. Some butterflies have these brilliant fluorescent patches on the wings...tests your patience though, you need that magical 40-45 deg sun angle just right to capture the colour.
