ok, I understand how to turn it on, (shift C) but every time I enter a mission with the Extra it says; "Your Nitrous Tank is depleted." how do i fix that?

thanks

Is there a .cfg file entry for NOX in the Extra's .cfg file? If not, maybe sim reads tank as empty right after you switch it on. Try copying P-51's .cfg entry into Extra's file and see what happens. My guesses on this, I might be totally off on this.....:isadizzy:

Didn't work, the P 51 uses ADI as a coolant, NOX is a boost, but maby ill just add WEP on the aircraft to compensate. (is NOX: water injection or something totally diffrent... i know that i use it in my model aircraft, but is it equivalent?)

thanks

NOX is nitrous oxide. It was pumped into the carb to give added oomph for a short period. The end result was the same as WEP, but depending on the size of the tank, could last a lot longer than WEP (a few Mossies had a 5 minute supply, but the Westland Welkin had a half-hour supply). The SDK documentation has info on adding NOX to the config file.

RGR, Im not going to pretend I know where to find the SDK documentation... I feel like a baby, not knowing very much.

Mmm. I had a look at the default Extra .cfg file and it has an entry for NOX so it should work, yet it doesn't. Now I'm baffled as well. :banghead:

Maybe the fuel booster pump switch on the Extra panel has some part to play in getting the NOX to flow? It didn't when I tried. At least I'm not getting the "Your Nitrous Tank is depleted." message when using the shift+C keys (realism settings set to hard). I'll play about with it a bit more and see what happens.

To get at the SDK documentation you need to install the SDK that comes with Acceleration. Doesn't seem to help much though.

Best wishes
