Ever since I installed acceleration i've had problems with the mayority of add-on planes especially with the props that the autogen objects and clouds like go through the prop or the cockpit glass and looks really bad...I was wondering if its just me and my computers problem or is it a known issue in the Xpack. And is there a way to correct it?:banghead:

No itīs a generall thing. Itīs not depending on your system, but an FSX related issue. Itīs how the aircraft modell is created, thus this effect mainly occurs with non-fully-FSX-created aircraft only. It affects most if not all ported over aircraft from FS9 or addons which are not exclusively build and compiled for FSX.
Donīt wory, after a while you start to live with it:icon_lol: Even acceleration and SP2 did not solve this problem:banghead:

Yea that really sucks, the rotor animation for helo's in fsx is not that good, but, the helos that were made for fs9 look great in fsx, nice and blurred (rotor animation that is),but the helo's that are made for fsx look good but the rotor animation look like they are standing still, looks very unrealistic,If only someone would make a helo for FSX with the rotor animation from FS9.

P.S. Just my opinion

It's actually an issue many of the default Microsoft FSX aircraft also. I've talked about this on another forum and the best thing I can conclude is that props/rotor disks look best when everything (throttle/rpm) is at 100%

How come the rotors from fs9 models show a nice blurr,is it the way the animation is done when the model is made.

I think the p51 props are pretty bad, not up to the par of the planes themselves. Supposedly the designers of the props thought the reversal of the rotation was a neat effect, but it shows as a distracting twitching back and forth on my pc. Very annoying.
To improve the p51 prop, I borrowed the prop from the Beech Baron texture folder, prop_Baron.dds, and placed it into the texture folder of the p51. I copied the p51 prop, prop_P51_Racer.dds, in its folder to save it, then renamed the prop_Baron.dds to prop_P51_Racer.dds.
The Baron prop displays a less dense image, especially on the tips where the p51's show heavily. So the overall distraction is less.
That change also affects the props in the planes that use the textures numbered 1,2,3,5,7,and 8 since they don't have a specific prop texture in their folders. The ugliest p51 prop, IMHO, is that for the Cloud Dancer, texture number 9. For the textures numberd 4,6, and 9 the Baron replace procedure must be repeated to change them.

Well, considering I did the 'warbird' prop for Ole Yeller (4) / Tiger Shark (6), and the Cloud Dancer (9) prop, in the last 10 minutes before we had to check in the files, at 4am at the end of a 12 hour day on Saturday, I thought they looked decent enough. Might have been 4am, though. :mixedsmi:
They're more accurate to the actual planes than the default prop that was going to be on all of them--the one on Voodoo and the other 'real' race liveries.
I can't answer for the RPM animation itself, only the paint on the prop. The animation is a combination of keyframes in the model and RPM / visual perception calculations that I'm not at all familiar with. I'm not sure what's causing the visual twitching on your machine--although if I'd seen that on our dev machines, I would have left them out.

I had a 'twitching' P-51 prop in Acceleration and found that by forcing Vsync 'on' the prop animation is much smoother...
The wagonwheel strobe reversal is still there - but the flickering/tearing is gone...
Having sat behind a few r/l spinning props I can say that the strobe effect should be much more subtle...I think modelers pay too much attention to photographic reference material sometimes...or else are unfamiliar with what effect the environmental conditions can have on the footage or photos that were used.
The overall spinning prop - especially at the tips - does have a peculiar 'squarish' appearance as, on my rig anyways, the tips only seem to render at the four corners of the circle or prop disc...as opposed to appearing to blur or clarify around the entire circumference.

That was an artistic decision / concession I made in order for them to be included at all, and it's partially related to the way in which the prop blades are texture mapped in the model.
I would have loved to make them do a full circle, but it wasn't feasible at that point, and I figured what I ended up with looked pretty decent on its own.
I can always email Irvin and bug him about releasing a patch. :costumes:

Your work is obviously first tier, the prop is more than just 'decent' and it appears to be a game or code limitation...or a crunch time decision to go/no go by a M/S team that was under the gun to get Acceleration released 'on time'
I hope certain aspects of FSX can and will be improved or addressed by the community, if not by Aces as they seem intent on moving on to FSXI or whatever it will be called.
No matter - If Eaglesoft and others continue to pump out superb quality aircraft at low cost there will be lots of choices
Cloud Dancer BtW is the most beautiful Mustang I have ever seen - the contours of the individual panels and the perfect capture of its form and feel in the sim is extraordinary to say the least.
Nice job on that :ernae:

I wonder why I never get that warning, I'm using AVG and always updating and use Firefox. I've never uploaded here so I don't know how to go about that.

Thanks for that Bob:ernae:
By the way I never get any sort of "Trojan" message with AVG or Norton. One has to be careful with anti-virus programs as a positive from a bona-fide site can sometimes be an erroneous scan. However a post accusing a site of having a Trojan, may cause people to cease visiting that site, so due care to double or even triple check is essential.
