Questionabout the Pearl Harbor Project 2
Where can Ifind those files? I rebuild my CFS2 installation completely new. I’m just inthe process to install all important ships; I always replaced the stock Japaneseships with Usios ships.
Here is a burningoil XXL- FX file for testing, I tweaked the volcano effect (I unfortunately don’tknow who created it) I need it to create a very big smoke effect for ships. Maybesomeone with more skills in tweaking effects can make the smoke more black thanit is now and remove the large mushroom. --For install, unzip and past the fileinto your CFS2 effects folder and tweak the DP file you like to add the effect.

enjoy..... hopefully we will have a custom waterclass at some point as the harbour water is dark blue green, never pale green as default makes it to be.... or you can try adding one yourself....

Good find Wolfi.

I think that each of the Pacific Fleet's battleship divisions (2 per division) had a different color on top of each of the ship's turrets. The colors matched the color of the dye in each of the ship's 14" or 16" naval rifles and thus the color of the splash of the shells when they hit the water. If what I read, some time ago, was accurate, the colors were intended to aid the aerial spotters when adjusting the fire of each ship in the battle line.

The Japanese used this technique extensively and there are numerous reports of differently colored gysers of water erupting around allied ships when under fire from Japanese main units.

The volcano effect was originally posted by Giovanni "Nanni" A. Cignoni. Sadly, he's been MIA for sometime now.

I've used the effect successfuly for ships and land damage, but I must admit that your new modifications make it look more realistic.

Here's a few shots of the original effect in the Battle of the Bismarck Sea and somewhere over Greece.
