Ok, I'm trying to do a custom repaint with the a2a piper cub repaint kit.
I have the GIMP software and the Dxtbmp utility....but I need some basic help
and I can't find any useful tutorials. Can anyone help me out?

The A2A paint kit is in a psd format that is used by photoshop and as I beleive will only open in gimp with all the layers flatend into a single layer image meanng you will have to recreate the layers from scratch using the paint kit as a template. You may also have problems with alpha channels with gimp as it only supports 16bit color depth but there are ways to cheat. The best place for tutorials for repaints would be the gimp forums were there are many tutorials on painting new skins for gamers.

CP ....... I bought an older copy of Photoshop from a friend that got a new one. Paid them $50 ..... They were happy and I was too. Still am. That was about 5 years ago.
