Well I have started to upgrade my PC with more ram and next is the card. Not wanting to break the pocket book what is the best bang for my buck in graphics cards, nvidia or ati? I already have a nividia ti 4600 but as time goes on it is becoming left behind. For price and futrue use what is the best way to go. I know there are problems with both but from everyones experience any suggestions?

First off, I would sugest Nvidia. But second, how much are you willing to spend, max.

Willing to spend, say at most US $200.00. LIke I said don't want to break the pocket book. Also what are the pro's and con's of either card.

OOO, right where I set my eyes on. Now, does your Motherboard have an AGP slot or a PCI-E slot for video cards? Also how big is your Power supply? ;)

Take alook at this.

AGP. The power supply is the standard one that came with my HP, whatever that is.

Humm, when you get the chance, open the case and try to find the wattage. A 6600GT requires a minimum of 350watts.

Both are very good, ATI and Nvidia, but Nvidia generally has better drivers, and with Nvidia you get better specular effects.

Actually the drivers on an Nvidia card allow for better particle and shader rendering than a ATI card. Certian effects will look better and be smoother on an Nvidia (I.E. Dense smoke, fog, etc.) and games like Splinter Cell with heavy lighting and contrast shaders will also run better.

I'm not putting down ATI, cause I know there are thing an ATI can do just as well as an Nvidia. :)

I've had both.

Yeah, I had both as well, my experience is that NVidia has better IQ, but I always get better performance with ATI and a crisper image. Plus in FS9, ATI handles AA better with clouds for performance, another reason for me to stay with them.
