I see these many times a day 1000ft and less above my home, only a few(2) miles from the runway they use often for touch and go's at Wright Patterson AB

The transports are loud at low attitude, But I think the F 117 and B-2 are louder..
The new fighters F-22 and the F-35 are really loud too..

They used to have B-52's and F4 phantoms when I was a young hobbit here, they were very loud also..
A SAC base back in the 60's and 70's

Get to see everything the Air force has flying around here from the work in research and development done at Wright Patterson....

Shortly before my Nieces birthday, I had 3 F-16's fly low between my mothers house
and my neighbors. I heard the engines first then 2 were flying next to each other
the third was minutes behind them. I thought they were much too low. They were flying East.

You can always tell when a C-5 is approaching or flying by, even if it is above the clouds for fog. The high bypass fans on the engines make a whine unlike any other airplane.

When jumping from them, they descend and loose altitude as they cross the drop zone so that they don't stall. The airspeed limits on the T-10, MC and SF series of parachutes is at or below the stall speed of the big plane. When the last jumper is out, the pilot reves those big turbofans up ricky tick!
