I'm guilty of assuming that everyone knew how to set up their graphics cards. Hey Moe has pointed out in the past that he uses RivaTuner and nHancer, so I thought everyone did. There are also some great guides by a guy named Koroush Ghazi, this man is a genius and really knows how to get the most out of a video card and system.

Gentlemen, if you are lazy about learning you will never learn how to tweak your system properly. Don't depend on anyone else, and besides its fun learning this stuff. That is not an accusation, it is a fact. These are things you must learn for yourself so that whatever add on you do, you will know how to make your system work for you. Study these guides.

Things you must be familiar with:
ATI Catalyst-for lesser mortals who are willing to settle for inferior cards:costumes:
nhancer -read the guide on the page
RivaTuner- has a guide with it
Windows XP tweak guides
Vista Tweak guides
Nvidia Tweak guide
ATI Tweak guide

All of these can be found at www.guru3d.com

There are guides to show you how to use them that come with the program. Another valuable resource are tweak guides which I had posted before. Read and learn for yourself, and you will be able to help others do the same. This is will be a forum of geniuses:costumes:

I think everyone thought I was a liar when I kept telling everyone I wasn't having the problems with Acceleration that they were. That is because I thought all of you knew this stuff. I'm a relative newcomer, so I assumed. Shame on me. This works for me and it will work for you. Yes there are still some mysteries with FSX, but I'm learning all the time.

In closing I offer this motto, it has worked for me too:
Nam et ipsa scientia potestas est

roughly translated-Knowlege is Power
Go to work!:jump::jump::jump:

Thanks Ted, and hey_moe who has pointed out RivaTuner to me. With all the new stuff in Vista, Acceleration, and now all these teak quides my head feels overloaded with info. But with time perhaps I will have learned and at least be able to make some sense of what the geniuses are saying.:costumes:

Wow, great links, Ted. I've only just started going through the gamer's guide, and already I've learned a couple of things. For anyone who's curious and willing to learn but not a full-on tech geek, these guides are wonderful. :ernae:

Thanks Ted... From those of us who are dealing with supposedly inferior cards that have none of the problems caused by the drivel Nvidia call drivers! :d:d:icon_lol::mix-smi:

Lesser mortals huh? :costumes: Oh geez :173go1:

Oh the abuse of it all, I love it. Thanks for the tip lines, I'll have to get busy and learn some more, mostly about what those greater mortals use:costumes:

A suggestion for the ones running XP and Vista on a slow system. This site will help ya shut down some of the programs in both OS and still be able to use the programs. It also helps your memory>> http://www.blackviper.com/

I tried using RivaTuner on a Vista32 system to change the shaders without success. Used the same technique on an Windows XP system with success. Anyone know why the difference? I'm administrator on the Vista system.

Did not need to reboot in safe mode to get it RivaTuner installed. Sure have done a lot of the safe mode to install drivers though.
