The strange confluence of recent world affairs, FSX MiGs, and great repaints has piqued my interest in well-rendered Arab and/or Israeli military air bases.

So far, I'm aware of Laayoune, Morocco (that's North Africa anyway); Damascus (ODDI) is present, though not much in terms of a military base there. There's also Al Alamain.

For Israeli bases, I went here: http://www.israeli-scenery.org/ but cannot download Hatzerim for some reason. Anyone know where to get that one?

thanks,

dl

:)

Once downloaded, you'll need to rename the file back to "isp_hatzerim_ab_v100.rar" in order to extract the contents.

I did one for Al Jaber AB, Kuwait. Can be found at flightsim.com:salute:

Thanks Falcon - will check that yours out.

KD - thanks - would never have found that in a million years ...

Will also check the IDF Ben Gurion by MAIW ... I've had good luck with those in FSX, even though they weren't designed for it.

cheers,

I had a brief minute to check some scenery yesterday - MAIW David Ben Guiron and Hatzerim do NOT play well together. At least, not the way I did it, with the SRTM mesh, landlcass, etc. all installed the way ISP suggests you do it. Maybe there's a customized way of doing it, but I'm not going to bother.

Hatzerim, with all the recommended mesh and landclass - is absolutely 10/10. Best Israeli base I've seen so far. I'll be looking for more of their stuff, though I think that's their only military base.

Al Jaber is very nice too - Ed, well done!!! A very placement of hangars, admin buildings - a keeper for sure.

Thanks,

dl

Back in 2008 there was a Desert Storm AB package from Tom Stovall here at SOH and there was probably his IAF AB package also.

Does anyone know what happened to them because there are no FSX scenery downloads earlier than 2010 available in the download section now.

thanks for the heads up Laz ... When I get some time, I will try and see if it works nicely with calclassics Beirut. Most of their airports (if not the AI) work well in FSX+Acc ...
