Ya know?? I bought it, installed it, played with it, and forgot it.. For me, it was like one of those toys you see on tv as a kid.. all exciting and wonderful at first, but boring after a very short while..

I did the very same thing, only used it a couple of times.

If you are a fan of the F/A-18, you can try the Combat Hornet, which is free if you have Acceleration, the download link is in the description of the video :icon_lol:

You cannot kill another plane or drop bombs, but it is 100% accurate simulation of the Hornet air-to-air guns and targeting mode with precise bullet ballistic trajectory.

You can kill AI aircraft, vehicles and ships with it. Play around with the different weapons and locking modes (if playing with guided weapons), and be sure to set for air to air or air to ground. I much enjoy the add-on. Also works perfectly on choppers. As mentioned, it is also set to be fully integrated with the F/A-18 if you have acceleration. Check readme for spec's.

Yes, bought it when released and still use it but only occasionally when I feel the urge to 'discipline' nearby AI aircraft when they get in the way...

It's easy to use via the weapons panel, can be a tad tricky to configure, but the manual and help from other users at the CapSim forum usually does the trick. I have noted that CapSim don't usually respond on the forum to individual request for configuring help - understandable really...

Installing and uninstalling the weapons into additional aircraft is easy, but bear in mind that weapons won't install into aircraft [as far as I know] that have less than three panel windows free in the panel.cfg. There is a way round this - just remove three unneccesary windows [if possible] from the panel.cfg and then install the weapons.

Personally, I'm still hoping for a 'multiplayer' addon from CapSim so I can become dead meat for my buddies online :running: I doubt it will come though.

I've pre-ordered the VRS TacPack, so I can hopefully fill my boots in multiplayer.

VaporZ, there's another thread here [sorry, couldn't find it] where folks discussed and exhausted the ins and outs of shoot 'em up vs. simulator thrills and spills, so I'm not going there :wavey:

EDIT - Here's the CS Weapons post http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?49500-Weapon-for-FSX&highlight=weapons

All in all, it does what it says on the tin IMHO. However, if you want more than just adding a weapons panel to the FSX default Microlight and blasting AI and boats 'James Bond' style, then I'd bank on the Superbug + TacPack for a rather more serious simming alternative :salute:

Happy hunting, Dave.
