At the last Lionheart sale, I bought the ported over FSX version - flies extremely well. Would love to see an FSX Jungmann and/or Jungmeister.

Man, that was ages ago...

The OV package backfired. It was launched right at the launch of FSX. The package was mission based with like 9 airfields, and accessing the missions from webpages (HTML with clickable mission-go buttons and music), which only worked with MS IE. Everyone used FireFox and the music and mission buttons appeared as virus activations, lol...

What a mess..

Then, the airfields in FSX were up in mountains, down in valleys or in holes in the ground because the ground mesh in Italy was totally different in FSX from FS9.

Was able to get alot of hair gray though during that project. :)

Neat planes. I learn so much about aircraft in doing these. The plane was produced in Germany, Sweden and I believe the Cheque republic (I cant remember presently where the 3rd factory was). Some of the Swedish planes are still around. After the war, people bought them up and flew them as general aviation. Alot disappeared from wear, some were raced in mini air races in Europe, Bu-181's.

Inerestingly, the back of the fuselage, vertical lines, were wood skins. The front was a mix of fabric and aluminum skins. The wings were wood skinned as well on the leading edges; fabric from the mid point back.

They were noted by Luftwaffe trainies to be like landing a Me-109, very similar in the bounce, narrow wheel width. The wings had a tendency to want to touch the ground when a slight turn was induced when taxiing.

Cool planes.

........I believe the Cheque republic (I cant remember presently where the 3rd factory was).

The Czech production was by Zlin, at their factory at Otrokovice in Moravia.

Interestly, while confirming that information, I found info at Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B%C3%BCcker_B%C3%BC_181) that it was also licence produced in Egypt, and that some wartime production was from Fokker in the Netherlands.

Long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, a young man lives in a simple life ... :D

I had the Bestmann for FS-9. Great model. It was a challenge to land and kept me entertained for quite a while.

A few good shots of the Bestmann in the movie The Great Escape. James Garner used one in his failed escape attempt.
