Some questions for Ted, based on his comments in the general FSX forum:

I'm a beta tester and I can tell you that you do need your computer running in top form to enjoy it. I am using an over-clocked E6400 with an EVGA Superclocked Nvidia 8800 GTS 640MB video card and two raid drives and I still get 35 and 40fps locked, but I keep my system lean and only have 19 processes running when I play with the Acceleration addon.

What are your 19 processes? (And which version of Windows is this for?)

I used to use FSAutoStart religiously, and shut down what seemed like non-essential processes. I've read, though, that FSX needs more system services than FS9, so I've been shy of experimenting with this.

This is best way to understand what can be done to make Windows the best it can be for gaming. This site covers Vista and XP

I'm afraid FSAutostart isn't necessarily that good of a program. It is better to understand how processes work and this guide is plain English
