It seems to be a consensus around here that a single card will do just fine unless you want to run very high resolution/dual monitors... FSX is very CPU driven and that is where most of our bottle necks are, not in the GPU.

FSX doesnt have native support for multiple video cards (NOT PROCESSORS) so I'd go with more power in a single package...

i see i have a good CPU and knowing that fsx does not support multiple video cards will go with the single card.

Single, really fast graphics card unless you are running really high screen resolutions or absolutely must have the highest possible AA and AF settings. One more than one occasion I have read that a single 8800GTX will knock the socks off of a dual 8800GTS SLI system.

Yep, this is true. Maximum PC ran the tests in June, and at present there is no benefit to running more than one card in FS9 or FSX, even with DX10 and Acceleration

I have 2 8800GTSs in SLi and its double the trouble, first I got new ram but that wasn't the problem so I had to get new power supply because older 550w wouldn't cut it. Plus, more games are not set up to properly use SLi.

I'd get the single powerful card. Alot of people have been having trouble with SLI, and crossfire with new driver updates, and as others have said Flight Sim does not support SLI or Crossfire, and is more CPU dependent then GPU dependent.

BFG does a good job with this card, the FOXCONN 8800 GTX got a better write up, but I don't remember the price. However every BFG video card I ever owned was great

I've not had a BFG product, but based on what others have said about BFG, I would not hesitate to buy their products. EVGA is another great company.

Just returned from downtown Tallahassee.

No Joy!

CompUSA had one for $649. Out of my league.

Ted,

I believe your link to the Foxconn should be this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814186021&CMP=EMC-IGNEFL102307&ATT=N82E16814186021&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL102307-_-VideoCards-_-L0-_-14186021

There is a discount code EMC1023VGA02 that reduces the price an additional $20.00 at time of purchase.:d

Ted,

Thanks for asking. I'm fine but busier than a cat on a tin roof. :d How goes it with you?

I'm watching the DX10 debate/evolution closely. I'm thinking of building a DX10/Vista system next year.

I am running FSX with (1) video card (Nvidia 6800GT) and a 2.6GHZ processor with 2GBs of RAM. I have all of the Microsoft updates and FSX works very nice with only (1) quality graphics card.

The 6800GT is a great card. I had one for a long time and really was pleased with it
