Gotch'ya. Sounds like fun.

In real life the Junyo was in Aleutian waters with the 2nd Striking Force and also participated in the carrier battle of the Santa Cruz Islands near the Solomon Islands.

Her name in English is Peregrine Falcon, one of the fastest birds extant; but she was one of the slowest of the fleet carriers of the IJN. With the loss of Carrier Divisions One and Two at Midway, she was moved up in the pecking order of carriers and served on and off again with the reconstituted CARDIV 2. She actually survived the war, albeit as a hulk at anchor following several torpedo hits late in the war.

I guess this is what she would have looked like in early WW II livery. Note her island. She set the style for all the late war IJN carriers with a more spacious bridge and funnel as part of the island.

Junyo was considered a lucky ship in the IJN and her survival was a matter of pride for her crew and officers...she was by all reports a happy ship....and had a much storied career.:salute:
