B-24M A72-176 (ex US 44-41956) flew with the 7th OTU RAAF from Tocumwal, NSW between 1944 & 1946. A72-176 last flew on 22 march 1946 and became an instructional airframe. She was sold in 1948 (minus the wings) to George Toye, who kept it under cover for nearly 50 years. At present, she is under restoration at Werribee, Victoria, where the fuselage has just been finished. See www.b24australia.org.au and http://www.grubby-fingers-aircraft-illustration.com/liberator_A72-176_walkaround.html for details.
