Oh, and for some very recent renders of the helldiver :jump: - http://www.razbam.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=93&t=136

Have fun with all this. (The only reason i didnt bring all the photos here is to conserve on the size of this post.)

Nevermind, sorted!

Very cool to see this being done for FSX! I can't wait to see the VC-work - quite a complex cockpit in the A/B-26K.

Brings back some great old memories from FS9 for sure!

Could we possibly get an early series A-26 model out of this as well? Perhaps as an expansion?
Very nice work there, like John, cannot wait to see the VC!

An Early A-26 does not look likely right now but may be put into consideration.

While the RAZBAM looks good.....I'm sorry but the shape and overall appeal of this SOH aircraft exceeds. John you did an awesome job on the K for FS9 and sure wish it was available for FSX.

HOLY COW AN A-26! And from Razbam! A great aircraft. Can also make the repaints for that aircraft firefighting move that feature the A-26's. Good stuff.

Competition for the SOH Invader, which, unfortunately, is not FSX native.

The firefighting models would require modified, earlier WWII-era A-26B/C variants. ; )

As I stated, it is very cool to see a B-26K being developed straight for FSX! The only reason I posted screenshots of the old FS9 example, is because I had long forgotten about it. Thanks to Milton Shupe, it was my first taste of aircraft development. The modifications I made to turn Milton's work into a B-26K back then, probably lack the proper etiquette/technique that would be taken by an experienced modeler, and I am not entirely confident in everything that I did way back then.

The best thing in my mind, of having a focused B-26K developed for FSX, and a payware model at that (so you have to get it right! :) ), is that it will have a proper VC, which I was never able to give the old SOH example. There are a great many differences in the cockpit, between a stock WWII-era A-26B/C and a B-26K Counter Invader.

For the RAZBAM development team assigned to this project, here are some photos from an example which is currently under complete restoration in Texas. Hopefully they can be of some use. ; )

That A-26 is apparently an On Mark aircraft that was used in the Viet Nam war. They still had to live with the old recip airplanes, didn't they? (C-47, A1-E)
On the SB2C they got a lot of work ahead of them.
Just the rear canopy, for instance There's too many windows, The frames are wrong. The retraction guides and the gear housing is not right.
Just counting rivets...

Anyone seen any updates on this beauty? I wasn't able to log onto the Razbam forums, may have to re-register. Anyway, getting all "giddy" about all the upcoming warbirds and the use of weapons within FSX. From the droppable stuff in Razbam, the VRS Tac Pack, CS Weapons, MILVIZ warplanes and their droppable wears...gonna give the dated engine for CFS3 a run for its money.

I thought there was an effort get the SOH B-26 upgraded to FSX format. Did that die out?

(Bringing it up due to the requests for earlier-model B-26 versions.)

The A-26K cockpit is in the mapping/texturing process, as soon as there is something to show, it will be shown. We have created some clever stuff for this bird.
The helldiverīs mesh is going to be in FSX today!, the interior model (cockpit) should be within this month as well.Lotīs of stuff in RAZBAM coming!

The A-26 is such a spectacular aircraft. After lumbering around the skies of Europe in B-25 and B-26 bombers, crews must have loved the A-26 for it's speed and maneuverability.

I've always found it odd though that it received the A =Attack category, when it carried basically the same bomb load as most B category bombers eg B-25, B-26.

I have been wondering the same thing for a while. I recall seeing the K model and early models and it seemed they were close to being finished some time ago but I've seen little news about it since.

I've been waiting for this for a few years, now. Having done work restoring IF-679, otherwise known as Special Kay( the B-26K pictured earlier in the post), I would love to have this plane in my FSX library.

Nothing new from RAZBAM in a very long time. Their last Work In Progress was the P-3 Orion, scheduled to be released in 2011, but it's now near the end of 2016 and no updates. I'd guess that their development team is no longer working.

I'd guess that their development team is no longer working.

Actually, they are apparently still developing-- for DCS. This flip took place a few years ago, and for those who haven't yet gotten the memo, we are **supposed** to be giddy and excited about it, and have already switched to DCS in anticipation...

The only "bright" spot is that there is occasional rumbling about the possibility of them converting some of their DCS goodies to FSX/P3D, or starting development for those platforms again. Guess only time will tell, but I'd sure like to see an updated set of A-6s! We can always dream...

I remember the B-26K you did for FS9, I still fly her. I have since dressed her up a bit, but she's still the trusty ol' gal she was from day one. An FSX "K Invader" is definitely an attention getter...

I may be a bit confused but I remember seeing screenshots from both Razbam and A2A (Aircraft Factory) for different A-26's but as noted above, it's been a while since much has been said about them. I hate that those projects have stalled as they looked very promising and not far from completing. I was eager to buy whatever model variant was in the offering (A/B/C/K models).

I may be mistaken, but am fairly certain the Razbam A-26 project is dead. Yes, they are concentrating on DCS projects, but I had not heard anything about conversion to FSX or P3D. NC

I still fly my copy in FSX with no problems. I also added an AI sound folder and use it as an FSX AI aircraft. It performs just fine in that capacity.

RD

EDIT: Added Screen Capture...AI A-26K taxing past some MATS aircraft at an undisclosed location sometime in the 1960s. The paint on the A-26 is the Civilian paint scheme that came with the SOH A-26 download. I used John Terrell's A-26K model and added the wing tanks and external stores textures to the civilian paint.

That A-26K SEA livery was part of the original release.
There were 2 different SEA schemes.
