I know this is for FSX but are the textures compatible with FS2004?

Regards Paul Day.

I know, I know, they are very dark, but they show some strange things with the model: weird contrails in tight turns, and a strange exhaust flame with lights on the side as well. It doesn't shut off either..Any suggestions for improvements?
Otherwise, fun to fly in FSX, hard to lose speed though..

Yes if you resize the textures down to 1024x1024, They should work just fine. FS9 only likes textures up to 1024x1024 pixels.

It's alright, the textures are not quite as sharp as the FS9 version and they take a while to load. The afterburner is always on too. It also hits my FPS pretty bad since its not an SP2 model.

I don't know?

60+ MB download and slightly dissappointed. Huge textures but nothing really great there. The flight model says it is reworked but it is really the one from the Hellenic Air Force release from June 2007. The VC seems to be new or maybe just the textures were redone. I think it's a step backwards though.

It obviously wasn't tested much in FSX for those vapors to be doubled up and 90-degrees off. FSX flipped a couple coordinates for effects files. Actually you don't even need them since FSX provides it's own. To get rid of the wrong ones comment out the two smoke lines under [SMOKESYSTEM] in the aircraft.cfg file.

I could sit here and sugar coat this post but the download moved at a snails pace and the end result was a waste of time. I'll list it of course but I've already uninstalled it.

Have tried earlier models by Kirk Olson in FSX, all looked great (and sharper) from the outside. But, one thing this model has in favour......, i can finally see from the inside of the DVC to the outside world (and that being the result of.....no tweak at all). Perhaps there are other F1 models that have the same result but i have not found them yet. I have to agree the model looked stunning in FS9. The reason i like this one pretty much is that it is the first F1 by Kirk Olson that appears ok in FSX SP2, at least on my machine. Did not have the time, tools or knowledge to tweak the older ones to an equal or better standard.:wiggle:

I also like the FS9 version better. Following directions given here at SOH I made the canopy glass transparent. It is just one small file. If anyone wants it just pm me with your email address.
