In a real pickle here!...finally have FSX running well ,installed and 'tweeked' a new 'stick' and finally my FSX-Acceleration came in the mail today but..........Can't get past the first installation box!!!...keeps saying "must have English version of FSX installed" I DO!! Only 'glich' that my FSX install has is that when it opens . . the title screen shows the FS-9 DC-3 Cover (?) but otherwise FSX works fine. Any takes on what the problem with my attempts at FSX-Acc install might be??? Am so itching to fly the Gloster Meteor which is why I ordered FSX-Accel in the first place but am now stymied. Any help appreciated.

acceleration must be installed over a clean, unaltered version of FSX - what they call RTM version...

you can have no addons atall and no tweaks to the .cfg

Thanks for that bit of info 'Haywoood'...double-edged-sword ..'cause it sounds like I'll have to back-track and remove add-ons etc. For me that could prove a real disaster.....not very good at the 'File-Thingy" which is why FS-9 screen comes up for my FS-X (Ha!)
Will sit on this for awhile an try to build up some courage to attempt a re-install of FSX!

Hi Folks

Walt -
You do not need to reinstall FSX
as Acceleration does NOT need to be installed on clean RTM.

Please see Microsoft's support article at FS Insider (http://www.microsoft.com/Products/Games/FSInsider/tips/Pages/FSXSP2-BogusErrorMessageonSetup.aspx)
whilst written for SP2, its equally applicable to Acceleration.

Flight1's registry repair tool (http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library) might possibly fix this.

Well, I took a day off to clear the cobwebs before tackling a possible re-install of FS-X .
Thought I'd start with the easiest possibility ...the Flight1's registry repair tool. (http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=library)

Whowzer!!..it worked first shot! two quick 'klicks' and the faulty-flie was corrected.
My FS Acceleration loaded smoothly and have now spent a few hours joyfully toolin' around in the AW Meter (NF) and the Gloster Meteor F-8. Thanks for the help from 'Heywood' and 'BASys' Goes to show..that whenever you need help, SOH is always a good place to go, to get the people in the know.

Thanks again!
