A friend of mine just posted these photos he took at Deer Valley airport. He went with his dad, who was intimately involved with planes during WWII. To quote his post
"I took my Dad to see the WWII-era bombers on display

at Deer Valley. He helped build and flight test over 100 B-25s at North American Aviation. Once drafted, he became a gunnery instructor aboard B-17s and B-29s in Texas, and flew missions on a B-29 in Burma. He really enjoyed seeing them again!"
Thought you all would enjoy seeing these pics.

Very nice! It is so great to see he was able to get out and be with his old aircraft again, and I am sure recollect on memories from the past.

It is of course nice to see FIFI out on tour as well, after the 4-5 years of work that went into getting that aircraft back up and flying regularly and reliably, looking and functioning better than ever.

Fifi's new, hybridized R-3350's should make her far more reliable, hopefully leading to far more appearances.
