FSX and Fly Now

When I click on the Fly Now button in FSX, it takes a very long time to load the scenery. The only to combat this is to disable my Avast anti-virus protection. I am adverse to doing this as I like to fly in the multiplayer environment. Hopefully some one there knows of a fix or tweak so that I am still able to have anti-virus protection for my computer enabled and relatively short load times. Any help would be much appreciated.
