Hi,

Methink it can be interesting to have a hardware tips section
Mods will decide of his future :)

A first hardware tip:

HID macros: Software for sending keyboard macros activated from different USB devices
http://www.hidmacros.eu/whatisit.php

This small utility is written mainly for Flight Simluator (with extra feature for FSX Deluxe version), but can be also usefull if you want to activate keyboard macros from special keyboard(s). With latest version 1.5 mouse & game devices support was added (see below).
Key features

manage multiple keyboards/mouses connected to one PC
different key on different keyboard has assigned it's own command
mouse buttons on different mouses can be also used as macro trigeer - including mouse wheel
when a key activates macro, it's own beahvior (e.g. sending letter code to windows) is deactivated
macro can send another keyboard keys, launch application or send command to FSX via SimConnect
when no macro is assigned, keyboard/mouse works as usual

Limitations

freeware - no warranty
works only under XP or Vista

I have a question, not hardware, but software. Will FS9 run on Windows Server 2008? I came across a server board with LOTS of room for RAM (Real Estate Foreclosures). Any thoughts?

thanks claudius,
i am anxious to check this one out.
i am currently using an extra apple usb keyboard circuit board
hardwired to switches and levers that i use for flaps, gear,
spoiler and TeamSpeak push to talk.
this is just for starters.
if this works, it will open many more options.
i am also experimenting with multiple controllers,
but that's another subject.

after a few hours of dinking around
i am unable to make it work.
probably me...
i found no documentation for FS9,
everything only talks about FSX.
