I just found this great aircraft by F. Giuili at SurClaro this afternoon.I haven't seen it mentioned in the FS9 forum before, so I thought I would give it a go!
(I could be wrong!)
After tweaking the flight dynamics, adding a new sound (F-7F), new prop textures, new lighting, converting the engine textures to 32 bit, new exhaust effects, and most of all getting rid of the alpha shine, ...
It's brilliant!
Some screenies:

More seriously .. can you post somewhere the main modifications (flight dynamics and new props textures principally) as I spend some hours of tweaking on this plane with poor results !!

My modifications are only as good as I can get them. Anything but the real plane, but it flies well!
As for the prop textures, they are giving me a real headache! I still haven't found a textured alternative, but in the meanwhile I am happy with what I have.

If you have trouble logging in to Sur Claro, the Imam RO57 is available at Flightsim.

I have given up now!
Such a shame as it is a real nice aircraft. I've now tried .air file alterations without success.
This is a tough nut to crack!
I shall just pretend that I had never seen it! :-)

Non the less, it seems like a fun plane, so i may take it for a spin when i get the new machine.

Basically the gear drag and pitch moments and the flap drag and pitch moments are what really need tweaking on this one. Once cleaned up the original flies quite nice but almost can't get airborne and falls out of the sky with gear and flaps down if you don't keep the power way up.

I used AirWrench for some tweaking but it's not quite right just yet.

Got it!
I just couldn't leave it alone...

She flies like a dream by using the unedited .air file of David C. Copley's wonderful XP-38N!
Available here: www.kazoku.org/xp-38n (http://www.kazoku.org/xp-38n) in combination with this .cfg:
