My contribution; XM607, the Vulcan that cratered Port Stanley's runway. I was using Edwards as a base for learning to fly her.

Excellent screenie, Pete!

Kinda the last one before you see a huge blast, when you had these blokes as your opposites.

Who's making is this magnificent bird anyway?

The rest of the screenshots uploaded are magnificent as well! Thanks for sharing :salute:

Yep...I've been meaning to read it for aaaaaaaaaaaaaaages, but never got round to buying it. I got Phoenix Squadron by the same author and Sharkey Ward's Sea Harrier's Over The Falklands too. I'm spending way too much time online,so this'll be a good distraction. :d

One of the many interesting aspects of that story is that because of the Vulcan's imminent withdrawal from service, none of the crews were qualified in air-to-air refueling any more. In fact, the refueling probes had been removed for some time, and they suddenly had to be found and refitted. Some were borrowed back from Vulcans in museums, including Duxford's example, and the three that are exhibited in the USA.
