I love this repaint for the Carenado 185. (I know that Tweeto flies a 180, but still.)

Love that show. Watched episode 6 last night. I download them from iTunes, I think $2.00 or $3.00 per episode. One hour and COMMERCIAL FREE!!!!!!! woo hoooo...

Ariel is a little cutie. Jim has a huge job managing all those planes and hubs. They do pretty darn good being in such a state as that, dropping people off in streams and hill tops...

Fantastic show, it makes me want to move to AK, altough I'd rather live anywhere with a climate thats colder than FL!

It's at flightsim.com. Search "Jim Boynton" under FSX General Aviation.

Can't believe this thread came up LOL, I was thinking the same thing. That show has just about got me to open my wallet and buy Carenado's 185 Bush, their Caravan and Flight One's Ultimate Alaska X. Will probably buy the Bush this weekend.

Anybody have any experience with Ultimate Alaska X?

It's fun to finally have a show that has an aviation theme to it.

Add me to the list who purchased the Carenado C-185 because of the repaint, and the show, as well! :)

I had been looking at the product ever since it came out, and enjoying the show as I have, as soon as I saw the repaint come up I bought the tundra-pack in an instant. Though funny enough, since purchasing the product, I still have yet to actually install the repaint - I've been having too much fun with the base product as is! I really love the tail-dragger Cessnas most, but the float-plane version is a lot of fun as well.

That Carenado C-185 looks nice. I may have to buy it now. Love that Flying Wild Alaska show. Did you see (Eppisode 7) the plane landing in what looked to be a 40+ knot head/cross wind. Wow! The plane was side ways and almost stationary over the runway. Dang!!

I would love to see and hear Jim's(CEO) reaction when he first found out . I would imagine that the show would have to do some serious editing if they filmed it .

Love the show. Got the DVR set up to record it and I watch it later when I can ffwd through the commercials. Did anyone else catch the DC-6 in the background of the scenes in Barrow last night? I had to back it back up and look again.

If only they would start showing Ice Pilots here in the US.

Hey All,

Great show! Not only does it have a 185 it also features the 1900C my favorite regional Turboprop. Lots of 1900Cs are flying around Alaska. Now if it had the PC-12 and the Kodiak all of my very favorite planes would be covered! :ernae:

UTX Alaska is great for scenery detail. The coastlines are much better, and the tundra and lake regions are much more accurate in appearance. Not all of the village strips are quite right, but the bigger ones are. I simulated part of the Iditarod last year and enjoyed it.

That was an excellent show as well - I think I would have actually preferred watching more of those than of "Flying Wild Alaska", since it covered more aviation themes in Alaska, and a larger variety of people, rather than just focusing on one airline/family. All three episodes of "Alaska Wingman" were all aired, one after the other, on the Monday of the week that "FWA" premiered. I don't know if more episodes were in the pipeline or not - after watching them that first night, I was hoping there would be new episodes in the following weeks, but nothing since it seems.

I'm starting to get into the Alaska localisms that they've gotten into the habit of showing/explaining. While it takes away a little bit from the flying, it adds importance to it. And Ariel is a trip!

google for her, amazing stuff, no stranger to being a media star
anyway, not your everyday run-of-the-mill stuff
neither is her sister, her parents, or the show, IMHO
".............she shot her first caribou with her grandma at age 9. The recoil from the gun was so strong that she was left with a black eye."
Bet she helped skin and butcher it, Not just a pretty face, eh? Admire her because she's worth it.

With respect, would you admire her without the pretty face or would she just seem like a twit then?

I am thankful she is learning to fly so far away from me, the thought of her operating any machinery is frightening.

It is a long way, but they have placed it in the right place. You will just have a hard time finding it if you are sorting by the State of Alaska as I was, since the creators have placed this in the Sovereign Nation of Alaska :)

Kept her around 2,000 feet most of the time, had to duck under a big gray cloud once. Strong winds on take-off, calm winds on landing.
