video card question

how do duel video cards work?..my nieghbor had a duel set up with three monitors...does a duel card setup with 1gb each of ram help a single monitor? or is that a waist...i was looking at an alienware desktop pc and it has duel video cards ATI with 1gb each of ram and if they work together somehow on one monitor for great graphics ill go for it...otherwise ill get just one card

Go with a single card. FSX doesn't use SLI or Crossfire.

True, FSX and FS9 do not utilize more than one video card. There might be an advantage if you are using two or three monitors or playing at an extremely high resolution, but for most single monitor users a fast, single card is all you need. Heck, my single 8800GT does a good job with FSX.
