Here: http://www.justflight.com/microsoftc152.asp

The info states it is for FSX & FS2004 but I checked and It's FSX native, with bumps and shadows.

Good news Bob,
I could only find 2 repaints for the 152 across all the big sites! I love to see a bare metal paint scheme.

Strange - it does say for FSX and FS2004, but lists FSX as a system requirement....

No matter - I'll have to paint the one I soloed in anyway.

Fantastic!! Does anyone know where the reg numbers are located that are chosen to put on the 152, I'd like to know if they could be changed to look more smooth and rugged looking for some repaints? This is really a great gift from JF FlightInsider and I take back any negative comments in the past. :)

They aren't part of the textures. Just uncheck "show tail number" and they go away. Hope this means we're in for some BananaBob repaints for this bird! :jump:

Purty darn nice....specially for free :wiggle:

Sounds are really great, very nimble but steady and easy to trim out, and very good on the frame rates.....never purchased any of their products before, so I would say this was a good move on their part.

Anyone else have a problem turning on the avionics master? I know where it is, I just cannot seem to operate it either from the 2D or VC.

Not a deal breaker for the price :d, and easy enough to turn on via some key strokes, but just wondering if anyone else had this issue.

Does anybody have a sound issue with this? I can barely hear the engine.

Roger

I found the sound to be a little thin (probably my sound system) so I added the sound pack from the French freeware Fs9 C 150.

Just to clear things up. This is for FSX only and only features the one paint scheme rather than the dozens in the full pack and also doesn't feature any of the tools that are also found in the full pack. Hope you enjoy it!

...very nimble but steady and easy to trim out...

I hate to be the naysayer here, especially on a thread for a free model, but I find the exact opposite of the above to be true. On my system, the Flying Club pack C152 (upgraded from the disk version) is unstable in pitch and very difficult to trim - it flies nothing like the five or six C152 IIs, F152 and FA152 Aerobat that I flew when I was learning and requalifying. The roll is fine, but the pitch is very wrong.

I really don't want to knock a freebie, but it seems odd to me that I'm finding it pretty awful to fly and everyone here is praising it to the high heavens. :isadizzy:

I rather like the Seneca from the JFFC pack in FSX, though. :)

IanP,

Do you have you realism settings at Max? Otherwise it will not fly correctly. Try installing this free version as it features updated flight dynamics (that are also in the recently released update for the C152).

it seems to fly ok for me, it is nice looking and i like the price:d

there is one little problem i am having though. in spot view the cockpit glass is invisible (i actually have the same problem with the default microsoft planes) and in vc view all i can see in the windshield is the reflection of the seats. is there some way to correct this?

btw - the carenado 150 should be anytime now, according to what they told me when i bought the 206

So i give my dad a heads up and he runs over to download and then install. Cranks her up rolls out to the end of the runway and begins his roll.....rotate....blue screen of death. Try #2....blue screen inmmediately. Try #3 blue screen roughly 15 min into flight. Switches to fSx C172...same results. No problems before the download and install and the common deal is "bad pool header." Any ideas on what happened or how to fix?

By the way BBob, nice repaint on the JF C152. Will need to get with you as I would like to recreate a paint scheme on the FSX C172. My Dad owned one back in the day and I think it would be a cool gift.

Your paint shows in FsX Acceleration and Dx10 without any problems. I would imagine that your e.mailer either has installed it incorrectly or has a video card problem.

October 4th, 2008, 12:21
Kilo Delta,
Thanks for answering decampbe's question for the location.

To use it's sound files just copy the whole sound folder over to the Jf 152 folder having first backed up the original. Just renaming the original sound folder to "Xsound" will do that for you.

Just incase anyone else was interested - by default - this airplane is overloaded

@ 100% fuel in both wing tanks the C152 is about 25 lbs over max load...

I selected 80% in both tanks and removed the passenger weight and got better performance out of her in T/O and pitch and roll...:kilroy:

I think in all the C152s I flew, I actually saw instrument lights once, and that was because I was scarpering quickly back towards Halfpenny Green so I could land legally. Even when they're fitted and not U/S, they're next to useless!

I've downloaded the free version to try, but not got as far as installing it yet. Will do so at some point today.

Oh my god, I feel like I'm in the twilight zone. I have had this 152 in my files for about six months. I don't remember where I got it...I know I did not purchase it from Just Flight. Same airplane, panel, different sound. I have this paint and a few others, but not the original paint from JF. Did I somehow download a "pirated" version?

That's one of the paints I did for their freeware 152, FSX native too! :ernae:

Oh wow, thanks for clearing up my confusion. It's a damn good paint. It is the paint I use in my default flight out of Dillingham. I really enjoy "flying" this little plane.

Does this plane hop all over the place on take off for anyone but me?

As soon as I advance the throttle, it does a big hop, then on roll out it keeps hopping , so much I can see the front tire smoke from the VC puffing up...LOL

Not experiencing those problems...rolls smooth on taxi, takeoff, and landing.
