I read a notice on a website a few days ago about this and one of the solutions offered was to return the 1155 socket motherboard and then purchase an 1156 socket motherboard with a 1156 socket CPU.

What happens if you purchased a socket 1155 quad i5 rated at 3.30Ghz and wish to switch over to socket 1156?

As far as I know, the highest rated quad i5 in socket 1156 is the i5 760 @ 2.8Ghz.

Edit: One more thing... If you've purchased memory that is designed for Sandybridge, will it still be fully compatible with socket 1156?
