Repaint for the MAAM-Sim C-47/DC-3, depicting ZK-DAK in its current livery as 'NZ3546'. Aircraft preserved and operated by NZ Warbirds at Ardmore. Prior installation of the MAAM-SIM DC-3/C-47/R4D base pack, available at http://www.maam.org is required.

The nose cone section turned out to be a real pain in the butt (once again...) - this is the best I could do about it...

This NZ mesh&topo was one of my best FS addon purchases ever...

Kia Ora!

So do I! Actually I saw and heard the real ZK-DAK flying last year January while on holiday in Howick, Auckland City, sitting in the garden of my niece and her hubby drinking a Steinlager.

Thanks for the memories, Markus, and for the repaint. Can't wait to download and install this Kiwi baby.

Cheers,
Maarten :ernae:

Thank you Markus :applause: :applause:

The real DAK pops into Tauranga on a fairly regular basis , so I get to see it up close.

A great crew and we have lots of fun times. Even been for a flight in it (passenger only).

Thanks again :ernae:

Pete.

Thank you for your kind comments, guys!
I really appreciate this feedback.

But I have to point out one thing:

This is a dedicated FS9 repaint and has not been tested with FSX prior to release. Considering all probs with semi-portovers and SP1/SP2 issues, I decided to stay with FS9 and to not give any remarks about possible compatibilies...
Hope you don't mind.

But I've been reported on some issues with this paint in FSX (engine face textures not showing up, glass tranparency), so my interest was raised.
I've installed the MAAM Dak to my FSX/SP1 and applied the associated fix provided by MAAM (filename r4dFSXu1.zip).
Seems to be working so far:

Dunno about SP2/Acceleration, but here's a fix:
http://www.maam.org/flightsim/enhance/r4d_enhance.htm#FSX TRANSPARENCY FIX FOR SP2/ACCELERATION

This fix contains upgrades for
r4d_engine.bmp
and several glass textures, so maybe this could be the solution...

Cheers,
Markus.
