The Collimated HUD has been a topic of occasional discussion and i had promised to provide a sample of the parts and material settings used to produce these in FS .
Below is a link to a MAX9 and Gmax file comprised of the bitmaps, parts, animation and material properties used to produce the horizon following version developed for use in fighter aircraft.

To install the HUD in an aircraft , position the small end directly in front of the glass of the HUD, the $VC texture is listed in the [Vcockpit01] texture= section, your choice of HUD gauge goes in gauge00= section.

This file contains the model parts used to project the HUD, the animation allows it to follow the horizon whatever the aircrafts AOA .
