Hi Guys,

Does anyone know if MirageIII2009 made a take-off test flight video for the Classics Hangar FW190? He made videos about all other stages of flight except take-off and I have been wondering about that ever since I saw the first one in his FW190. Any info (or videos) would be much appreciated!

EDIT: After seeing one of MirageIII2009's other CH FW190 videos (Back Home - http://www.youtube.com/user/MirageIII2009#p/u/7/P3atabeURDU ) , I was wondering if the CH FW190 had gun effects, as shown in the video, or were they add in afterwards?

Hi Sadt,

no explicit takeoff video but there's one for startup and taxying and one for landing.
A list of Mirage's and other CH Fw190 videos can be found at our support forum:
http://www.classics-hangar.de/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=471

Rob Barendregt made gun effects for the intitial Fw190A early variants release.
These work with both the current builds of early and late variants.
If you're picky the late variants would require a tad bit of lining up as the longitudal position of the gun effects will be off by a few inches. I can easily post some adjusted coordinates here if you wish.
Search Avsim for "classics hangar" or rcbfw-20.zip and rcbfw20a.zip.
Remember to hit the A-key to line up the eyepoint with the reticule. :-)

Thanks Mathias! :salute:

And thats why I love collimated gunsights, you can line up the viewpoint perfectly, and then DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA :pop4: to some helpless AI Cessna or Piper ;) The best part is that they dont shoot back ;) I'll have enough dough to get it on Friday NZ Time. It'll be the perfect companion to my A2A P-47.

Its Craig BTW, :)

BTW - Do you seriously think you could start up a Do.24 project?

BTW 2. - Scott at A2A confirmed today that their FW190 Dora, has been pushed out of development for now - that means you could make one, after the Bf110 of course:

Pushed out means it's off our plate and we're not sure if it will make it back on anytime soon. When the Spit comes out and you see what is now possible, you will see why we concentrated our efforts.
Scott.

Hi Mathias,

Do you think you could also post those co-ordinates. Are they for all models, or are there specific co-ordinates for the A-5, A-6, A-7, A-8 and A-9?

Hey Sadt,

it requires different coordinates for different models depending on the armament.
I'll track them down and will post later today.

The Do24 is on my to-revisit-list ever since I made it as my first FS design 10 years ago.
I'm very keen to do a new K and T model, not the ATT though. Won't happen anytime soon though since my plate is full.

Thanks for HU on the Dora, that's good news indeed, for me at least.
Need to get in touch with Scott and talk over our old arrangement. :-)

Thanks Mathias,

I'll look out for them! Also, never forget, how would I pick up all those airmen I downed without a Do.24? ;) I would personally have one over a A2A B-17, but the former does me fine for the time being.

Oh, BTW, If you do make an FW190 Dora, that will be splendid! I love to have different Marks of the same plane from the same modeler, it helps with consistency. :)

EDIT: Oh, and as much as I like the Do.24 ATT (Scandalous!!!!!) I would still take a piston powered model any day over the prop-jet model ;)

Haha, it's not that I dislike the ATT but my heart beats for old iron and doing both would be an absolute nightmare. :-)

Here's your gun coords for all Fw190 variants:
Install as per Rob's original readme file but use the following coordinates in the aircraft.cfg's light section:

A-1 and Aa-3:

light.3 = 1, 1.9, -3.03, -1.1, FW190Cannon,
light.4 = 7, 2.3, -0.3, 2.3, FW190Cannon,
light.5 = 8, 2.3, 0.3, 2.3, FW190Cannon,
light.6 = 9, 1.9, 3.03, -1.1, FW190Cannon,

All A-2 to A-6 models:

light.3 = 1, 3.1, -3.03, -1.05, FW190Cannon,
light.4 = 7, 2.3, -0.3, 2.3, FW190Cannon,
light.5 = 8, 2.3, 0.3, 2.3, FW190Cannon,
light.6 = 9, 3.1, 3.03, -1.05, FW190Cannon,

A-7, A-7_R2, A-8, A-9:

light.3 = 1, 3.1, -3.03, -1.06, FW190Cannon,
light.4 = 7, 2.55, -0.427, 2.26, FW190Cannon,
light.5 = 8, 2.55, 0.427, 2.26, FW190Cannon,
light.6 = 9, 3.1, 3.03, -1.06, FW190Cannon,

A-8_R2:

light.3 = 1, 2.252, -7.734, -0.72, FW190Cannon,
light.4 = 7, 3.1, -3.03, -1.06, FW190Cannon,
light.5 = 8, 3.1, 3.03, -1.06, FW190Cannon,
light.6 = 9, 2.252, 7.734, 0.72, FW190Cannon,

Hi Mathias,

I looked in the readme files for the gun effects, and they say that sounds require the correct ATC designation to work. Does that mean they still work in the late variants?

Good morning Craig!

The gauge monitors the A-1 and Aa3 ATC name only to asign the correct wingroot gun sound.
All other planes have cannons in the wingroot so the correct sound is assigned automatically.
An exception are the both Sturmjäger A8/R2. These don't have nose guns so the gun sound is assigned to the wingroot cannons and only the outboard cannons play the correct sound.
All others work fine.
Hope it's not too much of a distraction though.

So everything works correctly, as I see it. :)

Thanks Mathias! :salute:

If this comes to fruition, and you need any help with beta-testing...

I'm trying not to beg at this point, but I would LOVE to help Mathias. :wavey:

So would I :wavey:

I believe that the "bubbletop" FW190s are slightly more attractive than the flattop models. It also helped with visibility too.

In real life somewhat, yes. In FSX only if you have TrackIR.
The canopy frame and headrest armor didn't change so there's no improvement with the default view.
Take a ride in the A-9, it has the same bubble top as the Dora.

^^^^^^^^^^And that is the model I will likely fly the most, when I get it later today.

I like the A-9, but I spend the majority of my time in the Early Variants. I can't get enough of the bird Mathias!

Cheers Chunk!
Yeah, I know what you mean.
I like the early variants more, too, historically speaking.
They are just sleeker and cleaner, made of one piece in a way.
