My video display sometimes "hiccups".

By that, I mean the FPS rate is excellent....around 40-43, with all sliders near max. But sometimes there will be a momentary delay, as if the display is "catching up".....

Is this a common problem? I will try different settings, to see if it changes this.

Could be other processes running in the background, but not sure.

Mine does that too, on occasion.

I recommend an external frame rate limiter (locking at 26-30fps)

Downloadable here from my skydrive:

Instructions as seen in this thread:

Also, try turning ON Vsync.

The external frame rate limiter certainly helps, but if your hard drive is trying to load scenery, you will likely see hiccups. The animated cars and trucks on the roads are another source of hiccups. Some FS9 port over aircraft induce serious hiccups, some don't.

I get delays (that is, frame rates that drop into single digits for 3-5 seconds, then return to normal) in very specific areas. There's one that happens regularly when I'm approaching KHTO from the east - and the same thing happens when I'm over southern Connecticut on the same north-south line. There's another that happens when entering a right hand pattern for Runway 34 at Orbx KFHR. It's as though there are "seams" in the FSX world where it suddenly needs to load a large amount of scenery. Are your delays specific to particular locations? Anyone else seeing a problem like this?
