I have the Lockheed L1649 2.2 with the FDE update and some how the 2d panel is angled down. How can I set it so that it looks level? I've added this line to the aircraft.cfg file
eyepoint=39.7, -1.730, 1.94 // but this only gets the VC cockpit to look level it does nothing for the 2d panel.

Here is a link to how it looks now

I have seen this before when I manually move my viewpoint down with my hat switch on my joystick, but I have a "reset" toggled to one of the buttons on my throttle and hitting that simply snaps it back to a straight ahead view. Have you tried using the space bar? I think that's the default to reset to forward view.:salute:

I haven't played around with a view for ages, but, from memory you just need to change one of the three parameters in the 'views' section of the aircraft config. I may be wrong, but I seem to remember doing it there.

This statement appears to be the issue:

VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=12.500, 0.000, 3.750 // B210510

12.5 clicks up is a lot of scenery in your face. I have rarely used more than 6.0.

If the eyepoint is set correctly, and flaps and gear cause appropriate downward nose pitch when deployed, this statement should be 0.0.

In the aircraft.cfg, set eyepoint left/right so that when you look down, (5 on the keypad) you are looking at the center rear of the seat cushion. Then look right, and set height appropriately to where your eyes should be just below the top of the window.

Once this is set correctly, then adjust the panel.cfg statement above. Maybe start at a 6.0 and work down toward 0.0 until you find something you like.

Hope this helps.

Milton,

I switched the value you have suggested, but it makes no difference. I have no idea what's making the 2D panel angle down like that. Thanks for the suggestion.

Try commenting out all of these statements:

//VIEW_FORWARD_ZOOM=1.000
//VIEW_FORWARD_ZOOM=0.800 // for wider view
//VIEW_FORWARD_EYE=0.455, 0.415, 0.425
//VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=12.500, 0.000, 3.750 // B210510
//VIEW_FORWARD_DIR=12.500, 0.000, 0.000 // LP210510

With all View_forward statements commented out, you should see a difference unless something else is going on with FSX Views that I cannot see here.

Default key adjustment for 2d view angle is Ctrl+Q in FSX, IIRC.

Milton,

Thanks for the last suggestion that helped.

I had to re-install the flight sim, and tried the suggestions here but it's not working. The 2d panel is set way to high, I have little experience trying to change the view. Any help would be appreciated.
