I have wanted to visit Bora Bora for a long time in FSX and got to it the night before last in a classic Short Flying Boat and then returned in the beautiful French Topsail Schooner L'Etoile converted from FS9... it was beyond words..especially in this time of snow and cold that is upon us...

enjoy and add more of the same ilk if you are moved to share among us as I was...

Really amazing Paradise pictures especially on a day like this, a big snow storm is coming in over Sweden today. Is it the default scenery?

I know the feeling, CrisGer! One of my all-time favourite scenery packages is Aerosoft's Tahiti X, which beautifully captures these islands, and others. When I just recently re-installed FSX on a new computer, this was one of the first sceneries to be put in place.

So at least once per long winter, I take a nice amphibian down there and bask on the beaches and lagoons. All of the islands have well-appointed airfields, of course -- even Marlon Brando's island, if you have a small enough aircraft (that particular runway's awfully short!).

Birds, porpoises, popsies! Gorgeous -- just Gorr-Jiss, I tells ya!

Too bad the conversion to jpeg kills a lot of the fine detail. But these are some of my favorites.

Air Florida...snow...*Cough* *Chuckle*

There have been a few occurrences of snow in Florida.

BTW..Air Florida lost a 737 in 1982 in snowy/icing conditions..

Hence my comment.

The plane depicted is Air Florida Flight 90 N62AF as a homage to those that perished.

I dont know what i find most amazing about FSX. Maybe its it's uncanny regularity at creating masterpieces of moving art work.

http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k171/urushira/2008-3-22_23-20-47-898.jpg

or maybe its its ability to put us into somplace quite surreal.

or maybe its just the level of reality you can get every now and then.

You kind of got the idea from the snow, plane and livery. ;)

Flight 90 was a textbook emaple for the importance of (timely) deicing and the dangers of pushback with reversers.
