The December ASE update mentions that it includes a better smoothing of the low visibility and fog situations. I don't know if last evenings flight made some use of that but it certainly looked scary. It was good it wasn't a real flight:

It is true that when climbing above cloud the transision to better visibility level was not as sudden as usual in FSX. Good work!
