I was in Midland/Odessa, TX today and found a Vietnam Memorial located on the airport grounds. Took a couple pictures and I am posting them for GI around the world. Especially, for Texnetcop and the other "Grunts" who drank Quinine flavored water and let in holes, while I drank cold beer and slept in air conditioned hoochs.

I knew a couple of Navy guys that I met down in Cam Rahn Bay and they told us how you guys lived it up on-shore. Actually I'd rather have the lousy tasting water, the miserable humidity, and the disgusting C rats we ate out in the field rather than be in a stuffy hot and humid freaking ship stacked three high in their bunks. They told me how bad things got below decks on some ships! I didn't even mind an occasional bullet coming my way because I had lots of room to duck...OK that part I minded! However our outfit did have cold beer thanks to a donation made by certain Zoomie officers. LOL!
We all did our time and no regrets but looking back ya wonder how in the hell ya survived it when so many you knew didn't. Thanks John!

I wish I weren't! LOL The good news is that if you work out, push yourself, and eat right 60 is just a number!
