This is NOT a beta version. It's just the 2nd alpha version!
E.g. the red light behind the canopy is just a visual marker for my FM development ;)

Best regards

Oh man, I love the F15E more than the tornado

Love the book by Smallwood - Strike Eagle: Flying the F-15E in the Gulf War

Oops, sorry for calling it a Beta version, Bernt. When the V2 link came out, my mind clicked from Alpha to Beta by default.

The scenery is Bluesky Las Vegas (freeware, and awesome), and the flat land is MegaScenery DFW.

Yeah, if you have some "here's what's wrong with this model" comments, it still has a alot of things to be tweaked, if not reworked. The shading and shadowing has a long way to go, alot of animation is not turned on, external lights in the wrong place, ect ect. I just started randomly hitting the "V" button while I was flying it, and before I know it I had a small collection of pics. As you guys know, when you take shots from inside the VC there is a slight distortion of sort, depending on your head position (Track IR). These pics really are more for wetting your whistle with rather than wholesale critique....I'm sure there will be plenty of that later on, LOL.

My only comment is, those formation strip lights look fantastic, hehe.

It's great to see this coming along nicely the only thing I want to say keeping in mind it's still under development is that the textures in the VC make it look flat and lifeless I'd like to see some matt heavily worn textures for the final release! Sure looks great though!

Regardless if it's beta or alpha, it is fantastic looking so far. It takes me back to the heady days of Janes F-15E, F-18E and Fleet Defender. It felt so immersive, that I often regretted not pursuing aviation as a career choice instead of infantry. Keep up the fantastic work and definitely will be buying this one when released. Now, if only VRS would release their TACPAC.......death and destruction would abound, well, sorta

Who did the stick? It always bothers me when something as important as the flight stick is not done properly..

Here is the real deal: http://cdn-www.airliners.net/aviation-photos/middle/9/3/3/0643339.jpg

Good evening, and thanks for all the comments and feedback gents. We will be bringing a lot more information out on the F-15E in the very near future. It was not necessarily meant to have the curtains pulled back on it at this time. As you can see though she is alive and well inside the simulator now. We are pressing full steam ahead on the flight model, and systems programming end of it. There is a still a long way to go with the MFD's/HUD as this is only the second Alpha build. I will say that at this point the flight model feels very good, but we are still tweaking it as close to perfection as possible. Is pretty much about all I have to say about it for the moment. I would like to thank Bone for doing the very nice screenshots though. As the aircraft is apparently good enough at the moment to even do formation flying. :icon_lol: I may have to join in on some of these flights myself as it looks like fun.

That is the sign of a truly accurate flight model. Kudos to the wizard that did the FDE.:salute::salute:

Well, the formation flights have been done with the standard acceleration F/A-18 flight model as I released the first more F-15E like FM only a few days later ;)

Bernt

I just put some time on your new airfile, it's very good, and very solid in the formation. It will still PIO if you're not carefull, but not at the drop of a hat like so many other flight models. I'm going to go out and G it up, do a stall series, and in general abuse it for awhile.

Formation. I couldn't agree more.

Ruh-Roh. Something happened to my Photobucket link. Let me see if I can work it out.

It's always a gamble to post screenshots of an alpha and with some of the early comments I'd guess Bone felt he should remove them.

Well, I have to admit I took Colin and Steve by surprise when I posted them...but like Maverick, I had things in my sight, so I took the shot. They said they liked them, but right now something screwy is going on with my Photobucket account. I just tried to log on a little while ago and I got a "Sight Under Maintenance" window. I was having probs with it yesterday.
