With all the recent negative news on the US automobile industry floating around, I thought I would show you something positive.

As many of you know, I just bought a new 2009 GMC Acadia. I love the cockpit layout. Everything is right at hand and the red lights are just too cool. Even my waife was amazed. She wanted to know what all the doo-dads did.

Here are some photos to give you an idea. Sorry for the poor quality. I had to take them at the highest ISO setting (3200) and even resting the camera on the seatback they were slightly blurred.

Glad you like it. We're kind of proud of those vehicles ourselves. I spent close to 14 months on that launch. It's nice to see someone saying something nice about one of our products!

It is obvious a lot of thought and effort went into this vehicle. I believe the HUD will be on all cars in five years. It is much more than a gimmick. It really helps you keep track of your speed.

Thanks to you and your fellow workers for producing such an excellent vehicle.

I had a '94 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP with lots of red buttons and dials and a nice HUD ! In later years, I heard that Pontiac discontinued the HUD for some reason (probably cost vs. demand).

Of all the vehicles I've owned, that Pontiac was my favorite. I've always been a GM fan and always will be !!

I had a Sunfire with a similar layout (no HUD) and traded up for a G6. The G6 is pretty close to what you've got there, but without the HUD. I like the buttons on the steering wheel. My only real concern is that red usually means something is wrong.

Looks all fancy shmancy ;)

So in the third picture, am I correct in saying the digital speedometer reflects in the windshield? Or am I "seeing things"? :isadizzy:

What's that blue thing?

You are seeing things. :costumes: The speedometer does reflect off the windshield. It is a Heads Up Display or HUD. It reflects Blue, so that is what you must be talking about. I don't know of anything else blue, other than the color of the car that is. It's blue.
