I know I am a little late but I bought a Trackir5 and just started getting stutters. It seems to on ly happen when I look down and from side to side. Pauses are more like it as the screen can freeze for a second or 2. Then when the pause ends, the game acts like it catches up. As if its making up for the lost time. Also my mouse is starting to act sticky.
The only other problems Ive noticed are graphics spikes from the new ATI driver.
I7,6 gigs,5790 gig card,Fsx,accel,Saitek hotas and rudders.

Another quick issue..... I have noticed I will get sound stutters when I use the rudder pedals. If I unplug the usb for a second and plug it back in, the sound stutters stop... Hmmmmmm

Just posting some good info on the subject for future reference.

Also this is a neat prog that runs in the background to check latency.

Time to run FSX and stress the system and attempt to find out whats causing my stutters/pausing and mouse issues.

SOLVED Trackir. Sitting atop a 37 inch screen when leaning forward caused the sensor to hit a deadzone I am assuming. I tilted it back and now the stutter issue has been solved. I hope.....

I was also going to mention that having a bright light either behind me or in front of me has caused issue's with my trackir that looked like stutters, my version is 4-5 years old now though?

Fsx does not like change. First the Trackir issues now a graphics issue. I bought a 1 gig 5870 and now I am getting horizontal spikes that ONLY appear in the vr pit. They originate off gauges, dash, prop and come straight back right into your face.
I have tried earlier drivers, turning off ocing in Catalyst, lowering my rez, lowering graphics settings, turning off all cat settings and letting fsx decide. Card has plenty of ventilation. Besides its only in the vr pit. Even the barebones freewares with very little detail so its not the amount of details over taxing the card. I think its a driver issue but Ive tried 2 others.

With an ATI card you'll need to use the VSync tweak to force vertical sync on, that's what's causing the texture tearing when you look around the VC. Here's a link to Jesus's fix for the issue.
