As the title suggests, Erick Cantu's EMB120 Brasilia is getting the FSX treatment by me. I decided to started on this just so I can work on something different other then the Bell 222 helicopter.

Materials are half way of being applied with some parts left. Once done, I will start the animations, etc.

I'll post some shots once I have the airplane in sim.

hmmmm.....If I'm not mistaken I already have his 120 flying in FSX....with no issues. What all will you be fixing?

FSX native with specs and bump mapping, self shadowing, etc.

First shot of the EMB120 flying in FSX Acceleration with native materials. Not much left to do, just gotta finish up linking animated parts to the animation manager, animate control surfaces, landing lights.

Anyone want to do the specs and bump mapping for me?

Would someone be prepared to make a VC? Please? :jump: :wiggle:

If someone can make the VC, I'd be more then happy to merge it with the exterior of this model:ernae:

Just do the exterior and release it.

A VC can always be added later.

I'll do just that. The model will eventually get a VC in the end, even if its not from me though.

Any brave soul willing to convert the B732 Tinmouse too? I'd gladly give it a try only for the fact that I've more hope of understanding women than I do of the intricacies of Gmax :monkies: :)

Got the source files for it? I was thinking of doing the B721 and B722 by Erick as well

They're in the same pack as the EMB120 and B727's. There's a 737VC too,afaik. :)

looks great, euroastoar....it's payware, but the aerosoft Twin Otter's VC seems like a good match to me, from what I've seen on the Aerosoft website....just a thought...:wavey:

737-200 would make me one very happy Arctic Canuk. Just to have the Canadian north lurking in FSx native:jump::jump::jump:

Ok, give me sometime to finish the EMB120 and the Bell 222 then I'll see which one gets the FSX treatment next, possibly the B732 as it seems like the most wanted aircraft:ernae:. One problem, some of these models had XML based animations, but Erick doesn't have the XML file needed for these parts to work.

Maybe you could make a 737-100 too? :)

Then learn it, you lazy buggar. ;P

If an idiot like me can do stuff in *Max, you can too!

The VC is very unfinished.

One would be better off grabbing the mesh from the default 737 and modify it to resemble a 732.

Updated shots with working landing gear, doors and flaps.

Ailerons, rudder, elevator need animating. Glass needs opacity and reflections and I need to update the landing lights.

Shouldn't be too long before release. Stay tuned.

Will the texture mapping be the same as the original? I have a few custom paints that I'd like to port over.

Never underestimate a man's idiocy! :d
I'd a very brief affair with 3DMax...and it wasn't a particularly productive one. Yep...I could have stuck it out....but the remainder of my sanity was worth more to me.:bump:

Excellent work,thus far euroastar350 :salute:

After a few tutorials, I could at least make a terminal building in Max. Then I decided to do an aircraft and everything was "learning as you go" from there on...

Euroastar350: That looks really good! I like the effect you have made with the different shades of metal.

Until then the default King Air 350's VC will do fine for me.

Thanks for converting this aircraft!

Thanks for the compliments everyone. The landing lights have been added and are functional in sim, alot more easier then in the FS9 SDK gmax. Texture mapping is the same as the original FS9 version with the addition of spec and bump mapping. Since the EMB120 will be the first to go out the door, the 732 will be the second to go out. After that, all efforts between myself and Brandon will go to the Bell 222...we are hoping for a Christmas release, depending if can get a gauge coder. Once the 222 is released (FS9/FSX versions), we are looking at other fixed wing models that Erick provided in his package....possibly the Cessna 172, but we are un-decided yet. We still have to make the rest of the Bell 222 series (B and UT) and 230 version, a 430 may be planned..but that is also un-decided at the moment. Stay tuned for further info and piccies. This will be my second gmax/FSX project. Before using gmax, I was using FSDS for my earlier models...not no more. With time and more experience, I'll pump out some of my own designs...some that I've been wanting for ages now:wavey:

You know you cant resist.....

There's a Dornier that would file for a divorce and an engine damage module that would tell on the Dornier that I'm a cheating basterd. How good both don't know that I've occasionally sneaking out and have fun with an A300 panel upgrade...

...we are hoping for a Christmas release, depending if can get a gauge coder.

Rule #1 in developing for MSFS: Don't make any promises! Before waiting ages for someone with XML experience, rather take the time and learn it yourself. It really isn't that hard once you got the basic rules down.

Once the 222 is released (FS9/FSX versions), we are looking at other fixed wing models that Erick provided in his package...

Hint: 737-[CFM-56 models] :d

not to be an impatient moron, but do we have any thoughts on a release date?
