How do you get back to the full instrument panel veiw once you view from the outside

how do you get back inside the cockpit of an airplane once you view it from the outside. I can see the outside in the chase views and other outside views of the plane and also from various gunning stations in bombers, but cannot figure out the right keys to get back inside the cockpit so that I have a full instrument panel showing.

Try F4 or F5.

also, once inside make sure you try toggling F3 which displays/hides the cockpit

F4 cycles through cockpit view and then the three main external views - Spot, Chase and Player/Target. Shift-F4 cycles the opposite direction.

There's also Shift-F6 for Float and Shift-F9 for Flyby.

If you're in any of the gunner positions or the bombsight, F6 will get you back to the cockpit.

The only thing that works for me on a consistance basis is Shift + F4
