Just to let you know that she is still in progress. I started mapping the exterior a day or so ago and she is looking ok. A few little redo's and she'll be at John's place in a week or two. The flightmodel is done and the xdp needs the loadouts to be adjusted and she'll be patrolling the waters before you know it.

Fantastic

Got a soft spot for this one - it used to fly from Waitemata Harbour, Auckland, and cross the Tasman Sea to Australia. There's one in the local museum. Sat outside for years but I presume it got housed in one of the big hangars eventually.

Owen, can Hobbits even land on water? I mean that is awful close to taking a bath ain't it?

I for one am glad to see this coming about, always had a soft spot for flying boats, more especially ones that can bring the hurt. (The wife says, "Yeah, you have a soft spot alright, right in the middle of ye head.")

This is one important CC bird for CFS3 as it's the only true CFS3 CC aircraft that can be legitimatley used in throughout the war (and beyond...yes in Korea too!).

The Catalina is a true beauty, I dont know where this one will fit though. Maybe in a large deepwater port somewhere....

Is there really a better seaplane than the Catalina? This behemoth definitely seems to take the cake.
At least for now.

We hates Water..:icon_lol:..
Baths only once a year and only if needed..:jump:
But to wreck this bird might be worth it..:icon_lol:

RAF Pembroke Dock and RAF Mount Batten are principle Sunderland bases in ETO that I'm aware of.
