Well, actually, it's only 11 years ago. I was just looking through my picture folder when I found some old FS98 pictures. This DC-3 was my very first payware addon and I liked it a lot :jump:

A few years later I found out that Bill Rambow, Jan Visser and Roy Chaffin had released a DC-3 (http://www.flightsim.com/file.php?cm=SEARCH1&fsec=0&fname=wjrdc3v2.zip) for FS98 which looked way better and was freeware. But that's another story :)

But what I meant to say, isn't it impressive how far we have come in the last few years? :applause:

Greetings

It sure is. I always enjoy seeing these old pics of earlier versions of Flight Simulator. Thanks for posting these.

Thats when the DC2 started for me. First contacts with the Aviodrome date back to 1999.

Yeahhh, its pretty amazing how far we've come, but it really reflects real world development as well. It took us more than thirty years to go from biplane to monoplane, and a few years later, we jumped from radials to inline's and V's, to jets.. Now in FSX we've just entered a whole new world with developments in construction and design. Like the little Air Tractor in another thread we've advanced in ways we could never have foreseen even three years ago.. But its taken 25 years to get here..
We've seen some very exciting times through those years, and some amazing developments. I look with excitement, and some trepidation, towards the future of our craft..

Nice pictures, Rob! Great to see that some of the gauges even found their way to the FSX version :)

Is that Kai-Tek in the pic?

Yep, that's Kai Tak!

I recently found my old notebook for all the stuff I did with Flight Shop and AF99.
Yes, we have come quite a few lightyears.....
