I ran across this on a motorcycle forum of all places and immediately thought to myself, "Self, this is too good to go un-noticed in the Out-House." Of course, I had to do that bit of thinking in between the wiping of tears from my eyes. Hey I only claim to be an old biker, I've never once said that I'm a tough old biker. Anyway here's the article (http://thecommunitypaper.com/archive/2010/09_09/index.php), and even if it has been posted, I think the story is worthy of a re-post.

Being from Indiana, I've seen this aircraft numerous times throughout the years. I must admit it is not the first warbird I go looking for, maybe that will change. Great story !! Maybe that's the real reason some of these aircraft need to fly, instead of sitting behind ropes in some museum.

I think not. But you can still paint up a Howard 500 in PV-2 liveries.

Yes I have read this before, but where I can't remember off hand. And yes. it brought on the misty eyes again just as it did before.

And I do know of Genesseo, New York as I've been there many times back in the late 60s and mid 70s. Genesseo was the home of the B-17 "Fuddy Duddy" for many years. And was my favorite haunt during my college days, and again when I worked at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY.
